Pursuing a Christian Education
Heritage Christian Academy takes the fundamental principles of the Bible and applies them to an educational environment
Heritage Christian Academy was formed in 2014 as a Christian School out of a desire from parents for a high quality, Christian education in the Picayune area. First Baptist Church of Picayune played a critical role in the incubation of HCA in the early years, agreeing to allow the young school to use their facilities until a building was needed. The doors of HCA opened in fall of 2014 with two teachers and twenty-six students in kindergarten through second grade. Within the first several years enrollment tripled and grades Kindergarten through fourth grade were growing and learning within the walls of HCA.
August 8, 2016 the HCA board of directors broke ground on the location for the new school building and construction of the current school building began. That same fall, HCA sought accreditation from MAIS and Cognia and was granted dual accreditation in September of 2016. The Fall of 2017, HCA opened the doors to the current school campus with students enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grade. Since that time, Heritage has undergone three additional building expansions and currently enrolls students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.
